It ain’t spring yet

I got out to Boulder Canyon briefly today to try Candelaria’s Crack, a 5.11+/5.12- fingers roof crack. It was super windy (my pad blew 100 yards away–into the creek), and the climb was shady. It felt pretty cold for 60 deg. F.

After pretending a Thermarest and my pad wouldn’t blow away, and would catch a 15-20 footer, I bailed. I need another crash pad.

:-) I love the way you started that video!!! Was that water cold? Looking good on that problem! Did you top it out or are you going to wait for a spotter or two and some warm weather?

I couldn’t top it out. I’ll go back with a spotter and another pad next weekend.

Interesting use of a Thermarest, however maybe you should consider investing in an air mattress… ;) That problem looks fun! Good video.

That’s hilarious! The problem looks tough – and pretty committing.
