Gym Projects

The phrase itself, which I’m sure is obsolete outside of the flattest parts of the country, is probably enough to make anyone who has actual rock climbing in their backyard blow milk out their nose. I’m pretty sure that my gumby rating sky-rocketed just by saying it.

Exhibit A: Gumby geared up to work the gym project.
But I don’t care. Here in the flatlands, where we need to come up with creative ways to keep on with this climbing thing, the gym project is just one of the many tools I use to continue to challenge myself and help pull me out a slump. I recently employed this tool and I’m sure you’ll be happy to know its working great. I’m getting my butt handed to me on it, only climbing move-to-move on most goes. I just, started linking moves last night. But for some reason getting thrown off plastic makes me want to assault the real thing that much more!

So this weekend we’re headed to HCR. We’re meeting a few of the Lincoln kin-folk and hope to have a few laughs/beers (ok many of both) and send a few (real) projects. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  1. That is f'ing hilairious. Yeah I know the feeling. I think all those years of gym projecting helped me learn how to memorize movement, and it pays off outside. Have a good time at HCR.
