America’s National Parks have been called America’s best idea.  I don’t disagree.  It is no coincidence that some of the best climbing in America is in national parks.  On a recent trip to Petrified Forest National Park, I stumbled upon a series of postcards that were reprints of 1930′s era posters.  I’ve photographed the postcards to share with you (click the image below, or here).

I’ve been working on a t-shirt design reminiscent of the above style.  It is a stylized photo of Castleton tower with the Rectory, Nuns, and Priest (R to L).   This is one of my favorite places: The moon casting shadows, dry red dirt in between toes, making sandwiches on the car & “what day is it?”.

I haven’t arranged printing yet, this is mainly just a feeler to see if you like it.  What do you think?

The design is great, Eli. Also, those postcards are amazing. They both portray a sense of grandeur and timelessess. If you don’t mind, could you send me the postcard images?

Thanks guys. Even though I often complain about regulations, etc. in the Nat. Parks, the posters really make me realize how well the areas have been preserved. Kris, try this link.

Great job with the postcards, Eli. I wasn’t able to see the design–just had an X in the corner in internet explorer. Any ideas?
