An Impromptu Visit to Climb Talk Radio

Last week Mike Brooks of ClimbTalk Radio asked me to be on his show with Jason Kehl and U.S. speed climbing champion, Alex David Johnson. The legendary John Sherman also joined for the tail end of the program. Sherman, the reluctant creator of the V-Scale, is one of the sport’s most influential pioneers. I was a sort of hybrid guest and co-host for the hour.

The eclectic mix of climbers made for lots of banter with a few serious moments in between. I discussed some highlights from ClimbingHouse since my last visit to Climb Talk and spoke a bit about the U.S. climbing championships held in Boulder. If you’re looking to enjoy some climbing discussion, have a few laughs and hear what some of the top names in the sport have been up to, you can listen below.

Narc - Great show, thanks for sharing!April 11, 2011 – 11:18 am

kris - Thanks Adam. May have to take heed of John’s suggestions on the Cookie… haven’t done them.April 11, 2011 – 7:33 pm

Jon - Did you ask Sherman what he climbed in Nebraska when he did his Fifty States tour?April 13, 2011 – 12:24 pm

Doug - Maybe he climbed this bad-ass boulder right here in Lincoln.

Adam - Nice, Doug! Where is that bad-boy?April 14, 2011 – 12:15 pm

Doug - On the SW corner 14th & Mannatt in the Belmont neighborhood. Several years ago we seiged that boulder and put up about 10 one-move sit-start problems and a traverse. These problems rival only Little Devil (http://www.mountainproject.com/v/colorado/denver_south/castlewood_canyon/105758724) in audacity. Go get ‘em!!April 15, 2011 – 12:02 pm
