Livin the Dream: Part 2

Since I’m leaving the country in the morning (nothing like waiting till the last second!) I decided to give a brief rundown of everything that I have been doing since Yosemite instead of dedicating a post to each.

I got back from Yosemite, was home for 2 days then headed out with my old boss Dustin to Dumont Dunes. WHOA. It was a damn cool experience! I borrowed one of Dustin’s quads and tried not to kill myself!

500 ft. sand dunes!!

Me with all the necessary gear.

After Dumont, I headed back to Vegas to get packed and ready to move. I packed everything just in time for Kris Linstrom to arrive for the weekend for one last climbing excursion in Redrocks. Our goal? Levitation 29.

Levitation 29 in all its glory.

We hiked in starting a 5am, climbed the entire route and walked off the back. We finally got back to the car about 9:30pm. This route was damn good! 9 pitches of mixed sport and trad with all the hard pitches bolt protected. Ummmm… With such a long day, we decided to get a locals start and see where the day took us. It took us back to Black Velvet Canyon to Triassic Sands! This route is possibly the best route I have ever climbed! Its a beautiful #2 / #3 crack, but wait its a face climb at the same time! Choose your own adventure!
