Originally, TBAGym.com was the website of the Tennessee Bouldering Authority, Chattanooga’s first indoor bouldering facility. The gym opened for the first time in 2000 at a time when roped climbing enjoyed some popularity, but bouldering (so climbing without ropes) was relatively new to the mainstream.
TBA Gym was located near the Incline Railway in the St. Elmo Historic District and had close to 3,000 square feet of bouldering walls and training space. With best-in-class route setters, TBA catered both to experienced and beginner climbers.
TBA Gym officially closed in 2020 during the pandemic but later reopened under a new brand with new owners at the same location. TBAGym.com briefly became an online magazine dedicated to bouldering and climbing before being acquired by ClimbingHouse.com in 2022.
